For the last six months, I’ve been reporting for a series of stories about the children of immigrants in California and the struggles they face to break cycles of poverty. The project is coming to a head now, as all the pieces of information, theories, and facts fall into place. But the real tale is about the teenagers I’ve met along the way, whose compelling, honest vision of the world has opened my eyes and my heart.
